In THE PUPPY BARTER, Jessie and Luke outlined the terms of their barter over spaghetti. Unlike Jessie who only cooks from a box, jar, or bag, I’ve provided a Turner family favorite, compliments of Jeanne Shinn. We hope you enjoy it.
Ingredients
- ⅓ lb. bacon (may substitute turkey bacon)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 24oz. can chopped tomatoes
- ½ can water
- Sugar to taste (may substitute artificial sweetener)
- Red pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- ½ lb. spaghetti prepared per package instructions.
Instructions
- Fry bacon till crisp.
- Saute onion in bacon grease.
- Combine onion and crumbled bacon with remaining ingredients.
- Cook until thickened.
- Prepare spaghetti and drain.
- Cover spaghetti with sauce.
- Bake at 350 for one hour.
- Enjoy.
