Although the newsletter was full, I remembered my promise to share my experience trying to sponsor my grandson’s sports program? Hang on to your seat. It’s a crazy world.
When I saw a notice requesting sponsors for my grandson’s middle school football program, I jumped on the opportunity to support my grandson. I used the provided QR code, filled out the form, and sent my check. A Bronze sponsor’s logo is printed on the game program and on emails sent to parents. Below is my logo:
I received a response asking me who I was, why I wanted to sponsor the program, and how I found out about their program. The terse email ended with they’d let me know if I would be considered for a sponsorship. Grandma has suddenly entered perv status!
Offended, I answered their questions and suggested they include sponsor criteria on their form. Two weeks later they accepted me as a sponsor. There was no explanation or apology for the rude email. And yes, they had cashed my check. I’ll be sure to sponsor the basketball team for grandson #3!
