Summer also means water sports, including whitewater rafting. Have you tried it? Alaska is home to the Nenana River, our personal favorite. Since the water is cold, even in the summer, dry suits are provided. After zipping into our suits, we met our guide and decided seating. Two women in our group selected the rear positions. A vacationing German father and his daughter asked for the center seats so… Yep, that left us with the front positions. Imagine a cartoon character smacked backward and then pops upright. That’s the front seat version of our ride. Since my right bootie leaked, I emerged from my trip with a smile on my face and a popsicle foot. However, a picture beats words.
